ABOUT ME
When my first daughter Maya was born 18 years ago, I was determined to carry her with me from day one.
Unfortunately, as a western woman, in a culture that has lost touch with its babywearing heritage, I had no-one to help me learn the art of babywearing in a fabric sling. For the first few weeks, my baby and I really struggled to find a sling, and a method of carrying, that worked for us. Eventually, after many frustrating attempts, we worked it out and my love of babywearing really began.
Over the last decade I have seen the range of available slings grow hugely but the main problem that I encountered all those years ago still exists - namely that babywearing is a skill that needs to be learnt not a product that can be bought.
This process can be made so much easier (and potentially cheaper) with the help of an experienced sling user, such as myself, who can guide new parents through the maze of slings and show them how to use slings efficiently, safely and comfortably. I have carried both my daughters in all kinds of slings - each from newborn to over 4 years old, so have experienced the pros and cons of almost every type of sling. I have been manufacturing my own brand of baby slings (Pouchlings) for the last 12 years and have been a babywearing consultant for the last 8 years.
I recently completed the Trageschule Foundation level babywearing training and am fully insured as a babywearing consultant.
I offer one-to-one consultations either from my own home in Leamington Spa, in your own home within 10 miles of Leamington and as a free drop-in/troubleshooting service fortnightly at the Bump2Baby Reality coffee mornings in Leek Wooten Village Hall.
